Statement of Intent
In my music video production, I will use a range of shots
such as mid shots, long shots, etc as well as different uses of lighting such
as lowkey lighting and using natural lighting. I intend to create a music video
to promote my fictional band Spirals and use shots of the “members” acting in
the video. I intend for my editing to fit with the song and look good with the
clips. In my video it will mostly be filmed inside and at home but in different
rooms like the living room, kitchen and outside in the garden. My video also
represents both male and females meaning that it will be appealing to both
genders. The theme of my video is positive and is to show young people having
fun with their friends which will be appropriate for the demographic of 16 year old's and fit with the song choice. It will attract as they may find it
relatable as well as it as it will not represent their age group negatively like
media products usually do. I will also create a title page for my video making
sure to match the font to the website to promote both of them.
I will be creating a website to promote my artist as well
and will use original images of the “band members.” I will also put a clip of
the music video on the website to entice more people into watching the video as
well as gives them a sneak peek at it. I will use colours that make sense with
the video such as blue, green and white. I will follow conventions of a usual
website from what I have researched such as having a menu bar across the top of
the screen that will say tour, merch, listen and also social media. I will use
text to with a font that fits to write a small amount about the band just so
people get to know a little bit about it. I will also include a working link to
show “the bands” merchandise this reinforces the purpose of an artist having a
website. The merchandise will be t-shirts with a design promoting the band like
a spiral which will appeal to the 16-year-old demographic. I will also be using the same people who are photographed on the website in the video. As well as on my website I have put a box where fans of the band are able to sign up for updates with their email.
I will create a strong use of digital convergence between
both my media products. On the website I will use shots from the music video as
well as embedding a clip of the video on it. I will match the colours of the
website to the music video to as well as the fonts show that they are linked
together as well as it helps to promote the video more. By doing this it will
create a clear brand identity.
